Thoughts are coming together on this summer's pilgrimage trails. All very exciting - tell you more soon. Trails are coming together for the Camino in Spain (our family plan to walk it and end up in Santiago by July 25, and we might start in at Bila Hora, Czech Republic, where the 30 years war started. The pilgrimage would go through Wittenberg, places of dark reformation history in Switzerland (think Reformists drowning Anabaptists in Lake Geneva over doctinal differences) through France and to Spain.
Others would do Celtic sites in Scotland (Iona, Lindisfarne), perhaps the Mission trail in California, and other trails that God puts on people's hearts to bring healing into history, and everything would end up in England, where we would do something at Greenbelt Festival to allow others to enter into what God did during the summer.
A name for the many pilgrimages? Dont know yet. Maybe "Re:formation", since the church is forming again in a radically different way among the emerging culture and we need to speak into history to bring reconciliation and healing of the rifts in order to move forward.
