Thom and Linda Wolf are coming for lunch today and we will have an informal worship time. Bro. Thom has been my key mentor for nearly 10 years but I haven't seen him since he moved to Thailand. Tell you more later.
UPDATE:
Thom and Linda came and decided to bring about a million other people from the training. And the two people I invited brought another million people and our house was a'rocking with people and curry and goulash and black gospel music. The food was multiplied miraculously (and with the help of some added water and flour) and we managed to feed everyone. Bro. Thom shared a little from the Scriptures about letting our life spill over, letting our life spill over, LETTING OUR LIFE SPILL OVER . . .that how he said it.
Thom Wolf is the greatest. He pastored a church in East LA called The Church on Brady that i was a part of when I was attending Fuller Seminary. The church was only 700 people but there were 70 full time missionaries around the world that called that church their home. The vision for the world was so strong that the small group we were a part of basically packed up and moved off to India. Seriously, most of them went. 3 couples . . . and they are still there. We even considered going with them. Sending off the people overseas was not a great way to raise attendence figures at home but it really impacted the world. The church is still going, and it changed its name to Mosaic. I havent been there for many years, but I sure hope that the passion for virusing the gospel into the ends of the earth is not being replaced with something else.
