Moving house today into the new place. Looking for boxes. Walking up and down stairs. Looking forward to sleeping in a new bedroom big enough to have our bed - the apartment we have been living in for the last 16 months is too small to have the whole bed in so we had to take off one side of it. Also, having 10 people live in a 3 bedroom apartment on the third floor has been a little squeezy and we are thankful to God for opening up the new place. Most exciting is the ability to have a training center - Suddenly Seminary - in which we can host people and offer wild and crazy learning parties, educational adventures and Training Freakends.

What did I use for my presentation in Hungary?
I-book and G-Force, played through someone's projector. I have never used Powerpoint - way too linear for me and when someone uses it, I always feel like they are selling me something. Lots of missionaries and teachers used it here. I felt they were trying to sell me something. Instead of Powerpoint, I used G-Force as my visualizer which is available as a free download from 55ware.com It is mainly used for raves. I have tried to put others onto it but so far I dont know anyone else teaching with it. I have used it for 2 years and normally run it with ambient music on soundjam. It also works with Winamp on PC's. When it comes out in a professional version, I will probably buy it.

Thank you Hungary. Your food absolutely rocks - love that paprika. May your young find their spiritual journey enhanced by your heritage, understood by your church and blessed by your elders.

For my presentation in Budapest, I wrote a song. A few songs actually. Enough for a whole album. None of it had any music - just song titles.

I was almost going to have breakfast with Jack Dennisen this morning in Budapest but decided to come to Hungary later. Jack wrote a great book called "City Reaching." He believes that church planting is not enough - the Kingdom must transform the cites on many different levels.

Devastated by the German school rampage in a town that I often drive past.. "We cannot find words for what we feel in Germany right now," President Johannes Rau said, according to The Associated Press. "Germany is in mourning in the face of these incomprehensible events."
Lord, bring healing and peace and comfort to the people in Germany today.

Here is the official statement for the conference I am at this weekend called Hope 21
"HOPE.21 historic conference in Budapest.
Never before are we meeting quite in this way as European evangelicals ? with some 25 network consultations around the city on Sunday 28 April and Monday 29 April, and in simultaneous country and regional groups on Tuesday 30 April.
Neither have we ever gathered on this scale - from 35 European countries - to take an honest look at Europe's spiritual condition, as we will do each evening in the Budapest Congress Centre.
Biblical "hope" is Europe's greatest need at the start of the 21st century. But what does that mean concretely? May the God of hope give us insight and answers over these special days - and in the years to come.
May HOPE.21 send ripples of faith and vision out across the continent, and stir in us all a fresh sense of responsibility towards shaping Europe's future...together!"

MY THOUGHT: Good spiel but it doesnt mention the natural spas with old men playing chess in their speedos. Guess where I am going to be? Anyone for chess?

Wooooosh! Brand new blogger from Berlin. Kerstin is a crazy chick who was with me in Seattle last year and comes down to annoy us sometimes in Prague. She is one of God's favourite people in Berlin and for Berlin. Her blog is really raw but I am convinced it will be one that we all will be going back to with amazment. Kerstin looks like Pee-Wee Herman . Sorry, she just does. We love her very much. Meet her at Berlin Rocks

"Proclaim every day the good news that we are saved. Proclaim his glory to the nations, his mighty deeds to all people" (1 Chronicles 16). This is what David said to the Levites when he charged them with the responsibility of singing praises to God.
Today I have to do the same thing. There are about 20 bloggers that are in tune with what God is doing in their world and I will be asking them to put their voices together on one blog page. It will eventually be released on akingdomspace.org (not there yet so dont go there, uh uh, dont go there, girlfriend). I expect there to be 100 bloggers soon and having them speak from all over the world will be a great way of making known what God is doing.
BTW - the word "praise" means to publically acknowledge. Praise is not praise unless it is shared or made public. It is also something that we do to each other, not to God. The word "Hallelujah" means 'Hey you, go ahead and publically acknowlege Yahweh.' I think Blogging will become a great way to do that.

SINGING WITH THE GYPSIES.
Last Sunday afternoon, 10 of us went up to Usti Nad Ladem, in the Czech Republic. A girl who is part of our movement in Prague and involved in a community that is starting up there - new believers and some who were kicked out of fundie churches. When we got there, we saw that they were mostly Roma (gypsies). Very cool. The city of Usti became infamous a few years ago when they erected a large fence to divide off the Roma from the more elite area of Usti. Now we were in the Roma area, in someones apartment.
So this gypsy guy pulls out a guitar and says "I dont know any 'faith' songs", and starts to play the Stones song, "I cant get no satisfaction." Being a global song, and yet not a common worship hymn, we all sang along (in English and Czech) and soon the guitar was passed on and we sang all kinds of songs. We also talked about Jesus and how he hung out with the margin dwellers. I talked a bit on the tax-collectors and how the Kingdom shows up in ordinary places (homes, market place, on the way). Sasha, who heads up The Way in Prague, did most of the teaching and told them that they were are real church, even if the institutional folk dont see them as such. They were really excited, and people kept coming in to the apartment. After a while, one guy went out to buy some wine and bread for communion. We broke bread, lots of people cried, we hugged. It was great. I felt a bit like the Pentecost dudes going out to the smaller towns to bring the blessing out and connect it to what God was doing on the fringes. All very cool. Next month we do it again in the town of Brno, where some people also are starting an organic church and want to tie in with us. I LOVE THIS JOB!

Here are more details on this weeks event in Budapest. I will be speaking from 2-4:30pm on Sunday 28th. If you can make it to Hungary, or are in Hungary, then lets have a coffee right afterwards. Hope 21 Official sounding quote from this page . . . "The DAWN European Network and the Alliance of Saturation Church Planting have for the first time combined their annual consultations to meet together at Hope 21."

Aussie Counter-Culture Christian Martin Roth claims to have introduced karaoke to the English speaking world. I need to check if he is telling the truth at MartinRothOnline.com. Speaking of karaoke and blogging, like, in the same sentence, Rudy is a serious blogger and uses a karaoke machine for the worship at his intentional community in Pasadena. He blogs at Urbanonramps.com

Thought for the day: Hey, now, you're a rock star. God thinks you're cool.
Have a great day and re:create yourself, your life and your context. I am shooting up to a city one hour north of Prague to meet with a group of young people that are starting an organic church like ours in Prague. Then its up to Dresden in Germany to see Karsten and his church Kraftwerks.
UPDATE: Germany was good. Over 200 young people, mostly alternative. Good hard-core worship in an old warehouse. he asked me to share some words from God - all I could think of on the spot was "Hey now, you're a rock star!" But I said that anyway, and I think God wanted them to know that they are the chosen ones for their city, they are the rock stars, and they should not be waiting for other stars to come to their city to do the work for them. The spotlight is on them. They need to "get their game on." Know-what-I-mean?

Fewer Americans in church says the article I found on Coop's site. I was just reading Alan Jamieson's "A Churchless Faith" in the bathtub. He has a chapter entitled 'Leaver Senstive Churches" in which he recommends churches come to grips with the huge amount of people leaving churches and actually help them on their journey.
Related: A WCC event that I was invited to in Germany this June is called "Believing without Belonging" and is designed with this challenge in mind.
The fact is, there are a LOT of believers in Jesus who do not belong to an institutional type church. We need to DEAL WITH IT.

We are working on the vehicles today, getting ready for our Germany trip tomorrow. I got my motor home going again which is cool. It is a 1980 Avia but it is not as cool as this 1960 teahouse.

Sneak preview. We have a another new baby - a global blog site that will be a part of the akingdomspace.org web site opening next month. We just put it up. I havent even let the blogging team know about it yet. Take a look at it here and tell me what you think. None of the links work yet. Give us time. Thanks to Amy McDonald for her help in the web design. She is on our Boaz team here in Prague and will be moving with us to the new HQ - yes, we sign the contract in a few hours.

We are going to sign the contract tomorrow on the house. So of course we are all excited and thinking of how we will use all 4 levels. The top level is a very cool attic that will be use media/computer lab and art studio. It overlooks a lake. We still dont know how to come up with the security deposit yet but God will make a way.

428. The amount of emails in my inbox. I need to work through them today and get back to everyone. Good news - we can rent the big house and move everybody in next month. Now we just need to figure out where to get the security deposit from. Exciting. Feels like the next step God is moving us into. People in England and USA are giving up their jobs to come over here and either travel around Europe or plug into our training program - or probably both. The house will open up a lot of opportunities.

Happy birthday, Dad. On Tuesdays, Barry goes over to see my dad with a print out of the latest blogs. My dad is an avid joke collector and teller. I am thinking of posting his jokes on line. I had a great time with him last month in Brisbane. He is looked after well and has an electric wheelchair. He calls his nursing home "St Peter's Waiting Room". I need my dad around for longer - since I havent really got my life together as I really want it yet. So pray that he keeps on telling jokes and speaking into my life for many more years to come. Thanks Dad - you rock! Have a great day and a great week.

We saw this house today that might work for our training center. It looks like a giant peach. With a little green paint, it could look like a tall skinny kiwi. We are all looking into renting it and trying to figure out the financing. It could work for us all and get people off our apartment floor.

The conversation here right now is about finding a large house for all the people we have right now and the people who are coming to live and train with us from September on. Our apartment, although we really love it, is just too small for everyone and we really need a dedicated studio/computerlab/training space for students.

Derek leaves today for England. He has been crashing on our couch because our Elijah Space (an area of our living room) is being used by another Elijah type person - Amy MacDonald. But Derek will be staying at the Elijah room in Sheffield at Jen's house. He will come back in a week with his crazy Abarth car from France.

Beliefnet just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. I remember when they were starting up - one of the key people (Deborah Caldwell) asked me to write regularly for them and I was really honored. I never did write for them but I appreciated the open invitation to do so. They had a lot of influence and credibility with the secular world. They were more inclusive than the evangelicals would have liked - including witchcraft and new age spiritualities as part of the Belief.net family. They made a good go of it. I feel a sense of loss. I have a lot of respect for
