Rudy is asking about the validity of the 5000 pomo/Gen X churches in USA that was mentioned again in an aricle - The Seattle Times: 'Emerging churches' drawing young flock. Here is what I think.
This same number came up 2 years ago and I was linked to it. I chased it down and Tom Sine was linked to it before I was. I asked Tom and he didnt say that number either. Both of us believe it is an exaggeration. US Center for World Mission probably came accross the number and used it without checking. Nice people there at USCWM, btw, I worked there for 6 months on one of their training projects while I was studying at Fuller. But as far as i know there would be no one at USCWM who would have access to that kind of information from their own research.
